Job Description:
Northland Pet Supply Inc. is seeking a full time in-house senior sales manager to oversee all aspects of the distribution of our modular kennels, premium dog houses, and other pet products in Canada and the U.S.A. The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the activities of junior sales staff, as well as purchasing, logistics, supplier relations, warehousing and inventory management, reporting, and bulk sales negotiations. The Senior Sales Manager will also:
- direct and evaluate the activities of the sales department
- establish distribution networks for the company's products and services, initiate market research studies and analyze their findings, develop sales and marketing materials, and assist in product development
- assist in the planning and implementation of advertising / marketing campaigns to promote the sales of products and services
- plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the design, development and maintenance of the company's Internet sites and related marketing
- locate, select and procure merchandise for resale
- resolve customer complaints
The Senior Sales Manager will report to the Director of Sales, Senior Marketing Manager, and the President / CEO.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- university degree in business administration, commerce, or economics
- minimum 2 years of senior retail and wholesale sales experience in the pet industry - this experience must include a background in sales to dog breeders and boarding kennel operations
- strong computer, Internet, and e-mail skills
- must have strong communications skills including the ability to write and speak English proficiently
Highly Desired Skills and Experience:
While all of the following attributes are not strictly essential, the candidate should exhibit at least 2 or more of the following attributes. Strong preference will be given to candidates that exhibit all of the following:
- second language relevant to our primary markets, particularly Spanish and/or French
- previous experience in e-commerce and Internet distribution
- previous experience handling LTL trucking logistics and managing warehousing
- basic knowledge of website design and HTML
Remuneration:
Expected base compensation of $35,000 to $50,000 per annum (exact salary or wage commensurate with education and experience). Bonuses based on sales department performance to be negotiated.
